Rikki “X” Frazier
Hailing from the Boot in the South, Rikki “X” Frazier is a self-taught American Musician/Drummer from Reserve Louisiana who has been playing drums since before he could remember. His parents bought him is first drum set at 2 years old, and after listening to some of his favorite tracks as a child (Black Sabbath and Metallica), his parents noticed him catching the beats just to the ear. Other instruments that he learned through the years as he was growing consists of trumpet, guitar, some mixing, as well as experimenting with whatever he could get his hands on, but it seems that drums and live percussion have always called out to him and pulled him back into music. For awhile though, he wanted to follow dreams of being a game designer or creator, which was short-lived. It wasn’t until this game called Rock Band came out that he would learn he had a gift. Unfortunately, for some time it was the only way he could drum, that is, until a fateful bet with a good friend. When he successfully played the drums for Blackened by Metallica on expert he won that bet and secured his first real drum kit. After many inactive years due to stage fright, Rikki, powered through his doubts and formed his first band in 2017. Years later, Rikki joined his first cover project Sour Candy, out of Reserve, Louisiana and soared on revival of live entertainment post COVID. With the resurgence of the rock scene, Rikki was always at shows, supporting original bands from the area, hoping to have one himself. That came to happen when Dominque from the local rock broadcast Crescent City Gumbo happened to meet Rikki at a cancer benefit. When it came it up that Silver Dose was auditioning drummers and that he would vouch for him, Rikki decided this was the opportunity he was needing. It appeared that Silver Dose was still auditioning other drummers when one night after a show Chet Tabor from Them Guys was talking to Guzz, turned around and pointed at Rikki saying “that’s your guy, that’s your drummer”. One week later he went into a rehearsal already knowing most of songs and a deal was struck that if he successfully played the next show, which was 9 days later (no pressure right?), he would have a shot at being the permanent drummer. Rikki accepted the challenge and was made a part of the Silver Dose family, not only playing a successful show but would go on to quickly learn the rest of songs for the album release and music video. Through the years with Silver Dose Rikki experienced his dreams, like his most proud moment, having the honor of opening for Trapt at South Port Hall, a band that he and his friends had always listened to when growing up, which brought him back to his childhood and youth. In Rikki’s time with Silver Dose developed a signature style bringing opportunities to play in many states and secure an endorsement with Soultone Cymbals. He believes and is confident that by Soultone allowing him this opportunity, he will be able to better promote and build his personal brand, his band’s brand, and of course Soultone’s brand as he officially becomes part of the Soultone Family. Going forward, we can expect to see him and Silver Dose showing up a lot more in 2025, and the years to come. They have only just begun, and in the words of Mr. Frazier himself, LET’S GOOOO!!!
