Ahmod Camp

My name is Ahmod Camp and I am originally from North Carolina I play Soultone Cymbals. My drummer journey started when I was 4 years old. I was at church and my mom sang in the choir and she noticed that I would always hit the back of the pew when I was little. When I turned 7 years old, I started to take the fans apart and started beating the back of the pews with the fan sticks. My pastor Rev. Larry H. Dixon and my amazing mother Sharon Camp talked and started me out as the drummer of Long Branch First Baptist Church. I played for my home church for 18 years. I took my talents to the best HBCU in North Carolina A&T State University. While in the band I played my other instrument which is the trombone I got my chance to play drums during the pep band. No one knew I played drums unless you were my family and I did have some family in the band as well. I then started taking my drumming craft more seriously when I was in college and did not stop until I finished college. I joined McCleansville First Baptist Church and there I took my craft to the next level playing for more people than I can name. Once I graduated and got married and played and bounced from church to church and even stopped playing for a little bit. I then felt like I was missing something and when I touched the drum set again it was like riding a bike because it was like I never lost it. I so thank for to God that he gave me this gift to bless other people. Drumming saved my life and kept me focused on the true purpose for my life which was drawing people to God through music.
