Donald Murphy
Born and raised in Mullins, South Carolina, Donald has been involved in music at an early age. He attended the public schools in Mullins, South Carolina. Donald began drumming at his home church (Greater Highway Church of Christ) the year of 2000. At a very young age, Donald has always had the desire and ear for drumming. Some of his drummer influences are Gerald Hayward, Aaron Spears, Calvin Rogers and Christopher Coleman just to name a few. Donald would constantly listen to each drummer closely, which in turn has created his very own technique and style. He is presently church drummer for Fork Chapel Baptist Church. He has worked on studio projects with Deon Campbell, Brothers by Faith, Resurrection, and many more. Donald is a fulltime studio drummer for MusikBarn Records / Du-B Productions and Restoration Studios (Ronald Clark). He has also toured nationally with gospel recording artists Rev. Curtis Campbell, Refuge, Flossie Johnson, and Brian Mayes. Donald believes in producing “great timing” for any genre of music. His motivation is to continue to work and study hard in the true meaning of being an effective drummer.
