Yvan Guy Larocque is an accomplished drummer and percussionist from Ste. Anne, MB. Yvan began playing music at a young age and fell in love with drumming. At the age of 16 he enrolled in the Canadian Forces as a Musician in Winnipeg upon the advice of his drum set instructor. Yvan began to perform with the HMCS Chippawa Band around Winnipeg playing drum set in their Big Band, Dixieland Band, Jazz Trio; percussion in their concert band and snare drum in their marching band.

At the age of 17 he embarked on tour with the National Band of The Naval Reserve (NBNR). From 2004 to 2009, Yvan toured for nearly 30 months total with this organization; acting as the Section Head of Percussion from 2006 to 2009 and playing at various international music festivals and events throughout Canada.

In 2007 Yvan moved to New York, NY to attend the prestigious Drummers Collective where he studied various musical styles from Jazz to Drum 'n' Bass, with many world renowned drummers including Ian Froman, Pat Petrillo, Guy Licatta, Fred Klatz, Peter Retzlaff, Vince Cherico, Marko Djordevic and Leroy Clouden.

Yvan returned to Canada in the summer of 2008 and continued his touring with the NBNR. In September of 2009, Yvan was offered a postition with the Royal Canadian Air Force Band (RCAF Band) based at 17 Wing Winnipeg. That year, Yvan played in the Canadian Forces premier Show Band, "Jetstream", the RCAF Big Band as well as many other smaller contemporary musical ensembles.

For over three years with the RCAF Band Band, Yvan toured and performed around the world with some of Canada's best musicians, playing for large audiences in international settings. In 2012, Yvan finished his contract with the RCAF Band and returned to free lancing and teaching in Winnipeg.

Yvan has played with such acts as the HMCS Chippawa Band, The National Band of the Naval Reserve, The Royal Winnipeg Rifles Band, The Winnipeg Wind Ensemble, The Royal Canadian Air Force Band, The Maritime Pacific Band Naden, The F-Holes, Pierre Freynet, Jenni-Lee Martineau, Johnny Russell, The River City Hum, Mike Hall (The Killer Dwarves), Chet Breau, Bachman/Turner (BTO), Amy Sky, Alan Frew (Glass Tiger) and many more.
