My name is Ursus Ravn and i’m a professional drummer and percussionist from Denmark
and currently the drummer of Paradumb.
32 years of age and i have been drumming almost my entire life and been a part of the
proffisional music scene for more than 15 years.
I started early playing the drums at the age of 8 and worked my way up playing in the local
music school. I was then initiated into a marching/harmony orchestra which really started to
set things on fire. Later on i got into heavy blues rock which kickstarted my career.
I grew up with a mix of disco, pop and classical music in my household and 2 trained singers
as parents. Music has always been a part of my life and i love all genres. Therefore, it was
important to me as a musician to explore all kinds of genres on my main instrument. That
has led me to great adventures playing in jazz quartets, pop groups, Hip-hop, Latin, but most
important – Rock and Metal.
Even though i really love and enjoy all genres, metal and rock will always have my heart,
especially the progressive sub genres with odd time signatures. Thats where i get my kicks.
Bands as Led Zeppelin, Genesis, Tool, Dream Theater and Rush are some of my biggest
influences but at the same time i cant deny my love for the nu-metal era with System of a
Down, Disturbed, Korn and Linkin Park in the front.
What im really trying to say is, that i love music and im getting influenced through all kinds of
genres and style, and that to me is one of the most important things as a musician, being
open minded.
