Stephen Brill

Born in Fulham, London England, Stephen started playing drums at the age of 11. Inspired by the music his father listened to Stephen started drumming by trying to imitate such drummers as Keith Moon, “Philthy Animal” Taylor, Clive Burr and Nick Menza. Stephen quickly realised that he felt at home behind the kit. Playing his first gigs at the age of 14 Stephen soon become a regular on the London gigging scene before joining his first permanent band ‘MUTED’ in 2001. With this band Stephen brought the rawness of those drummers he grew up listening to and showcased his talent in an original NWOBHM band. Recording his first major EP ‘Market Garden’ in 2009 Stephen enjoyed features in Terrorizer Magazine and had music featured on Cover CD’s. After ‘Muted’ disbanded Stephen joined London Heavy Metal Band ‘Death Valley Knights’ in 2011 where he went on to play festivals such as Blood Stock, Hammer Fest and supported Bands such as Glory Hammer and Arthemis. Stephen Left DVK in 2014 due to hearing problems but the drumming itch didn’t stay away for long and Stephen has now recently co formed new Heavy Metal Band ‘WAR GRAVE’. This band takes influences from some of Stephens favourite bands such as, Iron Maiden, Metallica, Motorhead and of course MEGADETH and the early signs from this band are good, so watch this space. Stephen is over the moon to be joining the Soultone family and following in the footsteps of his biggest Idol ‘Nick Menza’.

Stephen Brill Testimonial:
Firstly, I’d like to Thank Soultone for giving me the opportunity to represent their brand and to have the chance to play these amazing cymbals. The Artist relations team have been amazing from setting up my endorsement all the way through to helping me select and ordering my cymbals they have been on hand every step of the way, and nothing has been too much for them.
The Soultone Abby Cymbals are by far the most responsive, crisp, versatile and affordable cymbals I have ever played. These cymbals have very thin lathing and a beautiful raw bell, this gives the cymbals a lovely crisp sound that really cuts through the raw distortion of my band’s guitars. The Ride bell has a beautiful tone which really stands out from other cymbal brands I have played in the past. These cymbals sound great live and in the studio and I cannot recommend them to other drummers highly enough.
