Scott Clark
Scott began his drumming in the late 70's, and as with most drummers, he spent those beginning years in his bedroom with headphones and a kit playing along to Peter Criss, Alex Van Halen and Stewart Copeland. He spent his high school years playing in the school band, drum line, jazz band and playing with friends in garage bands.
After a brief stint at college, he relocated to San Diegoand joined the rock band, Lucy's Fur Coat. Scott toured the country with the band and they released2 albums. He eventually learned guitar and began writing his own music. Scott says switching instruments has helped him not only as a drummer but being a collaborative song writer. With his newfound knowledge, he went back to the East Coast, fronting a variety of bands.
He returned to San Diego,In2018 joined his current band, Mistress 77. They perform all throughout Southern California and have won the “Best Rock Artist” award, two years in a row at the San Diego Music Awards. They are set to release their second full length release this fall.
Scott’s overall approach to playing and writing music doesn't rely solely on technics, but a passion and vision for what the music needs and where it should go. He enjoys the bright and deep sustainment of his Soul Tone Cymbals because they cut through the punk and rock n ’roll sound of the live shows.
