Noriyuki Kitagawa

Noriyuki Kitagawa was born and raised in a small town on the outskirts of Tokyo, Japan. Having learned piano at age 8 and trumpet at age 10, he made the switch to drums and has since enjoyed playing with various musical groups in the US and internationally.

After living and playing music in London and Vancouver, Noriyuki studied Drums and Percussion at the acclaimed Musician’s Institute in Hollywood, California. He has studied under such drummers as Ray Luzier (Korn), Jonah David (Matisyahu), Gary Garbatini, and Fred Dinkins to name a few. Noriyuki’s playing style has often been compared to the likes of Taylor Hawkins (Alanis Morissette, Foo Fighters) and Chad Smith (Red Hot Chili Peppers).
