Nolan McCormick
My name is Nolan McCormick, and I love playing my drums. I remember as a youngster watching the movie “Goof Troop” over and over, while playing along to all of the songs with pencils and shoe boxes. My parents took notice and one year for Christmas I got a high hat and a snare drum, and it all takes off from there. After I beat the crap out of those hats and snare, I finally got a 5 piece CB kit, and I won a local contest where I received a month of free lessons. I started my free month when I was 12 years old and I continued take lessons from the same teacher, Jack Waller, for 11 more years. In that time I became fluent in Jazz, Funk, Rock, and Metal, as well as sight reading and basic music theory. After high school I began work in a recording studio, and further increased my knowledge on not just how to play music, but record it as well. After spending quite some time playing/recording music in Montana, I decided to make the move to Dallas, TX, and further pursue my dreams. I have played in several projects from genre to genre, and I currently play in a band called “In Search of Sight”. We are a progressive metal band that challenges the guidelines and intertwines different musical idioms, whilst being influenced by the technical “Djent” sound.
