Nikhil started drumming when he was 1 1/2 years old.He initially played rhythm to bhangra (punjabi folk) while in Delhi for a very short period. Later, he stages his first performance when he was 2 1/2 years old in chennai. At that time, it was said that, he was the youngest drummer of India. Later on, he was attracted to heavy metal genre. Once he made it to the metal scene in chennai, he immediately started playing for many bands. He specialized in fast double bass, technical grooves and blastbeats. From that point the locals named him as 'astaroth' which means 'the crowned prince of hell'.Now, Nikhil is a freelance drummer. He is a versatile drummer who is ready to play any genre.
