Mike Speck
Realizing his talent at a young age, Mike’s passion to play drums started at the age of six years old. Mike began playing drums for his church choir and later started playing bass guitar. It wasn’t long before his God given talent paid off. Mike has shared the stage with many great artists such as Chris Tomlin, Newsboys, Disciple, Mark McKinney, Casey Donahew, and many more. Mike has played on several studio recordings for Scars Entertainment and Taking Solace Records. His current projects include playing drums for Justin Kaczyk, a solo project with bass player, good friend, and CEO of Taking Solace Records, Jay Estrada from the band “EPITOME” and a special father-son album with his oldest son, Casy Speck. Mike’s diverse style ranges from Rock, Metal, Blues, Funk, Country, and Pop. Mike’s passion for all genre of music has been influenced by great artists such as Stewart Copeland, Steve Smith, Gavin Harrison, and Simon Phillips. “Having more than 30 years experience, and having played on almost every brand made, I have never played on cymbals like these. They have the best all around sound that I have experienced.” Mike plays Soultone Cymbals, Fibes Drums, Vic-Firth Sticks, and wears Scars Promotional Apparel.
