Mike was born in 1961 in Washington State. He began drumming in the late 70’s and began his professional career in the early 80’s in various regional Rock cover bands. After a 12 year hiatus from live performing, he returned to the stage by joining his love for music with his faith. After several years as a Worship musician, Mike decided to form a project to take his music and faith out to the masses. In 2010 he and his guitarist Ricky Dunn formed what would become the Rock Band Limberlost. www.limberlostmusic.com
Mike’s influences are many but can be narrowed to these favorites. It started with Ringo and John Bonham which actually is enough. Add in Simon Phillips, Jeff Porcaro, Alex Van Halen and Tommy Aldridge to name a few and you’ll get the picture. Mike’s songwriting stems from the less is more camp and that it’s all about digging that groove deep and serving the song. In addition to Soultone, Mike has also been endorsed by Sawtooth Music Instruments (Drums), Cympad International, Xcel Drumsticks and Chromacast Hardware.
