Mason Glass, drummer and founding member of Within The Midst, was born in Lee county, Virginia. At a young age he quickly became fascinated with music. He began playing drums at the age of six to music he heard his mother playing on the radio. His love for hard rock and heavy metal drumming wouldn’t begin until he heard “Whiskey in the Jar” by Metallica. The aggressiveness, the distorted guitars, and the “in your face” drums immediately had him hooked. He began practicing this style of music he had discovered - progressively transforming his style into a heavy, yet groove oriented feel. Fast forward many years later, Mason is one of the most passionate drummers in his craft. He is continuously changing the game and what it means to be a modern metal drummer.
