Marquis Lee
Marquis Lee Sr., a native of Cincinnati, Ohio, is a dynamic and versatile drummer
with a passion for music that started at the age of 5. His journey began with the
youth choir of Good News Church of God in Christ Church, where his innate
rhythm found expression behind the drums. Marquis later went on to attend North
College Hill school where he became an integral member of the drum line, starting
on cymbals and bass drum before rising to the prestigious position of percussion
squad leader, playing lead snare in his senior year.
At just 16, Marquis became the drummer for Bread from Heaven Outreach
Ministries COGIC, marking the beginning of his leadership in church music. By 19
years of age, his skills were sought out by notable Gospel artist, including National
Recording Artist Overseer Waymond Dean, Pastor Rodney Posey, and Lindsay
Orr. His reputation as a talented and reliable drummer quickly spread throughout
the tri state area.
In 2019 Marquis was hired by The Revival Center at Cincinnati to be the lead
drummer, a position he holds today with dedication and excellence. His musical
portfolio continues to expand as a frequent guest drummer for various church
ministries including The Warehouse Church, Access Church, Solid Rock Church
and others. Marquis has also collaborated with other artist such as National
Recording Artist Estee and local artist Toya T and more further showcasing his
artistry and versatility.
With over two decades of experience, Marquis Lee Sr. remains a highly respected
figure in the musical community, known for his technical skill, deep groove,
technical skill and passionate performances. His musical journey continues to
inspire and elevate the sound of every stage he graces.
