Mark-David Ellis is a multi-instrumentalist born in Kansas City whose passion for music began at the age of four. After watching the weekly broadcast of Hee Haw and becoming mesmerized by the guitar playing of Roy Clark and Buck Owens, Mark convinced his mother to buy him his first guitar. The rest, as they say, is history.

By the age of fourteen, Mark was already performing on trumpet in Kansas City nightclubs, often playing alongside bandmates twice his age. Over the years, he has mastered several instruments and performed throughout the United States and Europe.

Mark was signed to Atlanta Artist Records, home of the funk band Cameo. He was also signed as a member of the Euro hip-hop group Da Vibe, whose single “Survive” briefly reached number one on the European Black Pool Charts.

Throughout his career, Mark has toured as a bassist, keyboardist, lead vocalist, and trumpeter, including performances with the Chicago tribute band KC Transit Authority, among others.

In late 2022, Mark landed the drumming position with Commotion and performed his first show with the band in July 2023. Reflecting on his time with the group, Mark shares:

Mark has also been an endorsed artist with Burbank Trumpets and most recently signed an artist deal with Soultone Cymbals.
