Kevin Williams
Kevin Williams, a native of Brooklyn, NY, was born into a musical family. His gift to become a talented musician was recognized at the age of 5. At age 7, Kevin began playing drums during the Friday night services at his home church in Greensboro, NC. He studied the techniques of his cousin, Def Jam Records producer, Wyoming Pass, who was the church’s main drummer. It was during these services Kevin realized drumming was his passion, and he wanted to continue as he got older and strive for excellence in the music ministry. He was also influenced by the legendary John “Lil’ John” Roberts, who still serves as a mentor to him today.
Kevin is now the main drummer for Wells Memorial Church of God in Christ, in Greensboro, NC. He’s also had the privilege to play behind national gospel recording artists Dorinda Clark Cole, Lucinda Moore, and Minister Corey Williams. Kevin also plays for the Guilford Technical Community College Gospel Choir, Bennett College Gospel Choir and the esteemed Warnersville Community Gospel Choir, who performed during the Greensboro, NC Bi-Centennial celebration. He recently completed recording an album with gospel recording artist Aisha J. Lewis, and is now endorsed by Soultone Cymbals.
