Jerome Hous

Born on the 18th of November 1985 in Kingston, Jamaica he was raised for the most part in Curacao and is currently living in the Netherlands, Jerome started his studies with master drummer Pepito Reyes at an early age. At the age of 14 he began playing professionally with Carlos Julius Coco and Shannon Laurens Gonzalez. Jerome started racking up an impressive roster of credits at a young age. By the age of 16, he was playing with several local acts.

Jerome began his professional career at the age of 13, at the CCC music institute, which opened the door for him to perform and practice with many great artists such as Pepito Reyes, Edgar Palm and Ernie Gregorious. The music Academy Edgar palm, better known as CCC which stands for Cultural education of the Curacao Community, had a huge impact in his music career. The main activities of the CCC were organizing cultural events, such as concerts and stage plays from the Netherlands as well as locally produced plays. This was a great career boost for Jerome, because this institute opened the door for him to perform with many great artists on the island. Before and during his studies at the CCC Jerome already played in several gospel groups and has a lot of stage experience. Currently he’s a member of the group Black Citizen. He also does a lot of replacement jobs with different bands and takes part in projects.

After some years of hard work and experience he became an all-round drummer and continued his development in Holland by taking private master lessons with Bob Roos and Pim van Ham.

His style of playing is a combination of various rhythms, such as Calypso, Reggae, Pop, Blues, Jazz, Latin, Funk, R&B and Black Gospel.

Regardless of what the future holds for Jerome, you can expect a diverse display of drumming styles and an enthusiasm and excitement you cannot deny.
