Since Jason was a little kid growing up in Pennsylvania he always acted as though he was being followed by a camera crew. Always on, always ready to make a joke or set one up. This attitude translated over to music at the age of 12 when he saw his uncle Scott play the drums to Space Truckin by Deep Purple. “I was hooked!!!” Jason said “I wanted to do exactly that I just needed to figure out how.” That Christmas Jason was gifted his first set of drums and two years' worth of drum lesson by renown percussionist and local legend Jim Ebersole. Jason formed his hard-hitting style mowing through ACDC, Led Zepelin, Aerosmith and Metallica records. Later finding bands like Lamb of God, Killswitch Engage, Parkway Drive and Periphery to name a few. “I always dug the heavy stuff but I have a soft spot for the great pocket players like Purdie, Porcaro, Gadd, and Bonham.” This broad spectrum of influence led Jason to play for bands of just about every genre imaginable from ballad jazz to death metal. “Jim always taught me to play what I like but don’t be afraid to play anything!!” “If it sounds good try it, and I’ve kept that mentality till this day.”
Jason now living in North Carolina plays in a duo called Double Cherry Pie with guitarist and vocalist Scott “Mighty” Rivers. Jason also teaches privately and was a teacher at Melody Place Studios in Harrisburg Pennsylvania for 5 years. When not out playing he can be found in his office laying down tracks for YouTube, doing promotional advertising for influencers and companies or being a nut both on and off camera with his sons Noah and Alex.
