Jai Green
Born in 1985, I was bobbing up and down to John Bonham, Keith Moon, and Ginger Baker since I was in diapers. I was the kid who was always tapping on desks and counters, so when 5th grade band programs came about it was a no-brainer. I took concert snare and percussion for two years, and joined in jazz band my third year of school lessons. My grandfather, who was a multi-talented musician, got me my first drum kit when I was 13 years old. I played with everyone I could, soaking up style and energy from playing with other musicians, and started my first band at 15. As the years progressed, I found myself leaning further into Numetal and Heavy Metal music. I was awestruck by the intensity, speed, and visceral nature of this modern musical genre. I began noticing parallels with newer and older music, and my ambition is to develop a style that has the characteristics of classic rock with its raw, live, perfectly imperfect performance, combined with modern songwriting and technical trends, done with personal flare.
I have always been a victim of circumstance when it came to gear, especially cymbals. Financially I’ve always had to make do. Now that I’m at a point in my life where music is becoming more prominent, I decided to try getting cymbals that worked together. I hear lots of interesting sounds coming from other drummers, and I noticed more and more that when I heard something I liked, Soultone. I reached out and they made it very easy to join the family. The quality is neck and neck with competitors, but the sound is far beyond my highest expectations. Clear and defined, with the pleasant kind of decay that doesn’t cut short, but doesn’t wash over the next note to be played. My bandmates were thrilled with the clarity from the drums after hearing one song with my new setup. They didn’t mind the laser engraved logo either! I joined When Darkness Falls in July ’22, and with enough new material to record our third full length album soon, I’m very excited to go into the studio and have the gear that sounds perfect for my playing. I can be found @hex_drummer420 on Instagram and tik tok, and Jeremiah Green on Facebook.
Soultone cymbals stand apart for their quality and sonic appeal. Any cymbals in a series, and most series can be combined to achieve the sound you hear in your mind when you imagine that “perfect” sound. They have styles that match any players preference and they go above and beyond to give you any customizations to make your wildest dreams come true. They welcome a diverse array of players and styles and will help, step by step to achieve the sound you want when playing. They’ve helped me up my sound in one fell swoop and no fuss. Can’t wait to stop by the facility and shoot some pro drum playthroughs.
