Hunter Pettis was born and raised in Macon, Georgia where he currently resides. He started learning guitar at any early age and then realized drums might be his bread and butter. Hunter was first interested in playing drums after he saw a middle school drum line perform at his elementary school. The following year Hunter’s parents were able to purchase a small electric kit and then he began teaching himself from Beatles records and so on and so forth moving through different classic rock bands. Hunter practiced for several years by himself but by 10th grade was able to play in youth band at church which led him to becoming the full time drummer on Sunday mornings. This helped him create the foundation he needed for playing in a band. At this point he realized that this was not just a hobby, this was a passion that he was going to be perusing the rest of his life. Hunter quickly formed a hardcore/punk band with some friends right out of high school and began to play, and book local shows. He knew there was more out there and was interested in pursuing other musical styles and playing with different people. Hunter currently plays drums for Hindsight, which he and some friends from high school formed in late 2016. The band has taken over Macon, Georgia, putting out several releases including a full length in 2017 with several singles and a few music videos. They’ve had success locally and regionally, being voted the best overall band in Macon for 2018 are currently working on new content. Hunter has been playing drums now going on 12 years but there is still so much to learn and improve upon. Hunter and the band plan on doing big things with Hindsight in the coming years.
