Hunter Guidry

Medicine

Hunter Guidry- grew up in south Louisiana with a huge influence of blues/zydeco/ and Cajun French music. None of his immediate family were musically inclined but Hunter grew an interest in middle school when his Dad bought him his first drum set. Hunter continued his study into music throughout middle school and high school. He was on drumline for 3 years and jazz drum set for 2. His major personal influencers and teachers would be Jude Gaspard, Brody Humble and Scott Domingue. He took huge interest into the play styles of Dave Grohl, Chad Smith, Carter Beauford, Tony Coleman and Jojo Mayer.

During high school and after, Hunter played for a couple garage style bands but nothing serious. Taking a hiatus for a couple years, Hunter got back into music and helped form the band Eagle Street. With Eagle Street he met other notable musicians in the area and formed the blues super group known as Medicine. Medicine is the current group Hunter is playing with actively. Playing all along the gulf coast Hunter is able to help create a name for himself and Medicine.

“I personally couldn't have been more thrilled to be a part of the Soultone Cymbal family. When I first came across them on YouTube in the early 2010’s, I fell in love. I love their versatility and huge cymbal selection. I love bigger/more volume sounds with my cymbals and Soultone gave me just that and more.”
