Gurkirath Singh

I am Gurkirath Singh, a drummer and Performance Major at Berklee College of Music. I try to combine
technical precision, musicality, and high-energy performance in my playing, drawing inspiration from
contemporary pop, modern jazz fusion, electronic music, EDM, alternative, and groove-oriented styles.
I am particularly interested in developing a modern approach to drumming that balances advanced
technique with strong musical expression. My playing focuses on precision, speed, groove, dynamics, and
creative rhythmic interpretation, allowing me to adapt across a wide range of musical settings.
Alongside my studies and performance work, I create drum content for social media, using drum covers and
performance videos to explore different styles and showcase my playing. I approach each performance with
an emphasis on both musicality and technical execution.
My current setup is designed to provide a versatile range of sounds, from warm, controlled natural tones to
more aggressive FXO textures. This versatility allows me to move comfortably between live performance,
studio recording, and contemporary short-form content.

Soultone Cymbals Setup
My Soultone setup combines Natural cymbals with FXO effect cymbals. The arrangement includes a left-
side hi-hat, an FXO effect crash beside it, a ride positioned in place of the medium tom, a crash on the right,
and a China positioned above and slightly behind the floor tom.
