Felix Manuel Baez
I was born in November 16, 1980, in Guayama, Puerto Rico. Since my early age grew my passion for music. I grew up in a Christian environment with many musicians in my family from generation to generation and still growing. When I was young I played in the church where I learned my first steps in the music. I've study music with the school band while studied the secondary school too. Also I've taken private classes and mentoring with various professional Drummers from the country. The music styles I like to play is the balada, pop, Rock, Latin, Hip hop, R&B, funk and others. My music influences are Jeff Porcaro, Vinnie Colaiuta, Dave Garibaldi, Steve Gadd, Abe Laboriel. I've played with various secular and Christian singers and Bands in the country. Spite of the fact of all that I know and all that I have, I still recognize that my talent has been a gift from God. At present I am a drummer in the worship team of my church, I work as a independent musician when ever I'm needed. I'm also the Drummer of Abdiel EchevarrĂa in his musical project "Aires de Libertad" and working as a drummer in Alterno Music recording studio. When I play my drums I take care a lot of the "Pocket" because I believe that is important for a drummer to learn and maintain it. I also worry about having a good hit at the moment I go out and preform. I like to play in a way so that the band feels good and comfortable. That way we can project a better performance at the moment we play. I love to make quality music whenever I go out and preform with a band. I'm very careful with the sound I've obtained with my years of experience in the music environment and each time I play I become more demanding with my self… Therefore now I use Soultone Cymbals, because they have a particular sound that I have not found in other cymbals before. I really like them, I really do!!
