Ernest was born in New Orleans, Louisiana where the music makes you feel alive. Being a drummer has a unique beat that flows through your veins. Ernest began learning to play drums at the early age of 6. As Ernest continued to obtain more experience playing drums in the church alongside his mother who is a well-known Gospel Artist throughout New Orleans Diane T. Peterson. He continued to excel to higher heights in his music experience. During Ernest’ high school years he played in the Concert band at Mc Main Magnet high school until his senior year of graduation. After graduating from high school in 1993, Peterson continued to play drums for several churches, Jazz Festivals, weddings, revivals, family reunions and banquet functions.
Ernest is currently playing for “Doing What We Do” band featuring Sam Warren, and National recording artist and ASCAP award winning Devious of New Orleans, Louisiana. He has also played with the likes of the following: Bassist Mark Brooks who has toured with Fats Domino, Dr. John and the Neville Brothers and also appeared in movies ‘’Bridge of Madison’’ with Clint Eastwood, ‘’Ray’’ with Jamie Fox, ‘’Memphis Beats’’ with Jason Lee and ‘’Treme’’ with Donald Harrison , Fiend International Jones former artist of No Limit Records, Grammy nominee Canton Jones, Grammy Award winning artist Irma Thomas, Grammy Award winning artist Tasha Cobbs, National gospel recording artist Travis Greene and Trent Cory.
