Dan "Nice" Cunniff

SYMPTOM 7, Walker and The Brotherhood of the Grape, Session Drummer

Dan "Nice" Cunniff is the drummer for the New York City based power trio SYMPTOM 7. His hard hitting energy on stage has gained him much notoriety on New York's music scene. He has been playing drums for over 20 years and has shared the stage with acts such as King's X, Texas Hippie Coalition, The Winery Dogs, Ten Ton Mojo, U.F.O., Carnival of Souls, Q-South, and Walker and the Brotherhood of The Grape. He has also played on the stage in such legendary venues as CBGBs, BB King's, Revolution, The Crazy Donkey, Stage 48 NYC and The Snug Harbor Theater. In addition to playing a busy schedule of metal and hard rock shows, Dan and his SYMPTOM 7 bandmates play many fund raising shows throughout the year for charities including Tuff Tails Animal Rescue, Toys For Tots, and various Cancer Research and Awareness organizations. SYMPTOM 7 has just released their latest record entitled Hogstooth.
Soultone Cymbals were used exclusively on this release and sound amazing. They also continue to maintain a top ten rating on the Reverbnation Metal chart for NY.

Dan also sits behind the kit once again for the rock and roll super group Walker and The Brotherhood of the Grape. 2015 will be a busy year with a European Tour planned for this coming summer.

Dan's talents are increasingly in demand for session work. Also, He has just joined an as yet unnamed 90s cover band.

There are so many musicians that have influenced Dan. And it's a wide spectrum of artists ranging from Gene Krupa and Buddy Rich to Morgan Rose and Vinnie Paul.

Hurricane Sandy proved to be devastating in NYC and the surrounding areas. SYMPTOM 7's studio and all their gear were among the losses from this storm. "We are working very hard to get things back to normal and have since been able to replace our gear," Dan says. "We continue to help those that are still suffering." One if the great things to come out of this storm is the release of a 20 track compilation album entitled "Greetings from South Queens: Songs that Survived Superstorm Sandy". Dan appears on this record with SYMPTOM 7 and as a collaborative artist with Des Ivor.

Dan's hard work with SYMPTOM 7, Walker and BOTG, and with charitable events has helped him become very well respected among his peers.

Dan's pursuit of playing the best sounding, most versatile, and highest quality cymbals led him to Soultone. He insists, "You really have to hear these cymbals for yourself. They truly sound amazing. Not to mention they are pretty to look at."

Dan concludes, "I would like to thank Iky and the great people at Soultone for providing me with quality cymbals and the opportunity to be a part of the Soultone family."
