Even The Dogs, The Joint Effect

My name is Anthony Hinton, and I am currently the drummer for Even The Dogs. I started playing drums at the age of 12 when my neighbor got a kit and I would steal money from my dad to play his kit. I am blessed to have played all through school when I was attending, but I never really found what I really enjoyed playing until I was exposed to Pantera. Allow me a moment to digress, I was raised listening to Motown, Stax and the old school R&B. This taught me about the pocket, and to quote The Godfather of soul "the one". Fast forward to Jr. high school, I started getting bored with that music and started experimenting with other genres of music which brought me to rock. I played in a few bands down through the years that played all the classics, and while it was great at the time, I still didn't feel like that was what I was looking for. I tried the hair metal era, enough said. It wasn't until I was exposed to Pantera that I really started getting excited about being a drummer again. I have been playing metal for almost 25 years now. My primary influences are Johnny Mendoza, who gave me the dream of playing in a band, Robin DiMaggio, which I will save for another day, and Wuv for POD. Both I have been blessed to learn a great deal from.
