Hey all welcome to my artist page! My name is Andre “A.C” Campbell born in our nations capital Washington, D.C. Even tho born in Washington, D.C. I grew up across the bridge in Alexandria,Virginia. My musical journey starts at a young age of about 6 or 7. My father, also know as Pooh, was apart of a band that played a style of music called “Go-Go”. Go-Go is a genre of music created and mastered in Washington D.C. When you hear Go-Go you hear the crisp sound of congo’s, high ping of a cowbell, the shake of a tambourine, the keyboards going in, and my favorite thing most of all a solid pocket or socket by the drummer.

Being young but being around the sounds of Go-Go all the time made me want to pick up a pair of sticks. Hearing that pocket from The Junkyard Band was everything to me. I would sit and air drum along with my first favorite drummer “Big Youngin” trying to copy all he was doing. As I grew older, about the 4th grade, I started to go to church at Freedom Chapel International Christian Center. Now that I was in church with my grandmother a new sound hit my ears. Gospel music is famous around the world and especially in the African American church, and I instantly feel in love with it! I started studying the drums day and night until I finally started playing at church.

Since I’ve started playing drums at church I’ve had the great pleasure of playing at large churches for conferences, revivals, and concerts. I’ve had the please of playing alongside recording artist such as Charles Laster II and musician Jermaine Smith just to name a couple. The AWCF is a huge church community that I’ve had the pleasure of playing for at their yearly conference of about 1000-2000 people every year! I’ve done outdoor concerts and have experience in rock,country,gospel,r&b,hip-hop you name it. My main love and what I play all the time is gospel music.

I’m looking forward to becoming more involved in gospel music and even signing with an artist of the opportunity comes. Drumming is not only part of my life but it helped bring me from a terrible path. Thank you for checking out my bio and hopefully you would like to connect with me!
