George Alb
My name is George Alb (born October 18, 1991, in Romania), and I am a Romanian
metal drummer active in the underground heavy music scene since the early 2000s. My
musical path has been shaped by a constant involvement in multiple metal subgenres,
ranging from traditional and thrash metal to death and black metal, both live and in the
studio.
I began my journey as a drummer in 2008 with Metal Up Your Ass, a short-lived cover
project driven by a strong appreciation for classic metal and early thrash influences.
This period marked my first serious step into band activity and live performance.
Between 2010 and 2013, I played drums for the experimental black metal band
Marchosias, where I was involved in the band’s early creative phase and recorded the
Above the Throne of God EP. This project allowed me to explore more atmospheric and
unconventional approaches to extreme metal drumming.
Since 2011, I have been the drummer for Decease, a death/thrash metal band based in
Cluj-Napoca. With Decease, I recorded several releases, including the albums Exhort to
Obliterate (2013), and Age of the Covenant (2014).
In 2019, I founded Omnitrocy, a death metal band focused on philosophical and
introspective concepts. With Omnitrocy, I recorded the Solipsism EP (2023) and singles
such as “God of the Gaps,” and a full length album that's yet to be released.
In 2023, I became the drummer for Crumble, a thrash/crossover metal band from Cluj-
Napoca. This project reconnects me with the raw energy and intensity of thrash metal
while allowing room for modern aggression and groove-oriented drumming.
In addition to my permanent bands, I have also worked as a session drummer. Notably,
I recorded the full drum tracks for Putred’s 2025 album Megalit al putrefacție.
Throughout my musical journey, I have remained deeply involved in the underground
metal community, valuing authenticity, consistency, and musical evolution. My work
reflects a commitment to heavy music as both an art form and a means of expression,
across genres, projects, and collaborations.
