Howie Gordon
Howie Gordon has been drumming for fifty years, starting in the NJ club scene as a founding
member of Kydus and Speed Zone, then moving on to Band of Brothers during his college years
in upstate NY and then as percussionist with Long Island classic rock bands Charlie Van Pelt and
11 Ways. Currently Howie is the drummer in Men With Big Hips, a NY outfit that calls The Red
Lion in Greenwich Village their home, as well as Beach Drive who you can see perform classic
rock and dance tunes at Spotlight at the Paramount in Huntington Village. Howie attended two
Rock and Roll Fantasy Camps under the tutelage of Mark Slaughter and Simon Kirke, and has
jammed with Paul Stanley at BB King’s in NYC. Howie discovered Soultone at a festival in
upstate NY where Steven Adler was playing. He called the company on his drive home, placed
his order over the phone, and has been totally satisfied ever since with both the look and sound
of his Explosion series cymbals. Howie’s current setup consists of a 20” ride, two 18” crashes,
and 14” hi-hats, all custom designed with celestial artwork (with a star on the reverse of the crash
cymbals) by talented Soultone artist Tamara. You can find Howie on Facebook at
