Growing up in Charleston, SC ,
Derek started off playing the drums at a very young age. With the help of his father, he pushed himself to reach great heights. His parents always told him he had a gift for music. Derek also pushed himself to learn bass and lead guitar. Derek is also one of the drummers for James L Patterson and Mixed Waves Soundz.
