Soultone Artist Caleb DeGroote has been recently named the President of Rockville Brass Band. In reference to the band's upcoming 40th anniversary season, Caleb stated that "it is an honor to be elected to this role within an organization with such a long history. I look forward to working with the membership to help us not only continue to increase the ensemble's excellence, but to help make sure the next 40 years are as great as the last." Serving alongside Caleb will be William Ichord (who assuming the role of Chairman of the Board) and Nigel Horne, who will remain the Music Director. The band is looking to continue it's musical and competitive successes in 2017, including a 40th anniversary concert in September and multiple performances North American British Brass Band Championships in March.
Founded in 1976, the ensemble is the nation's oldest actively competitive British Brass Band. Based in Rockville, MD, the ensemble competes as a member of the North American Brass Band Association. The band consists of approximately 30 brass players with supporting percussionists, and performs at a number of brass festivals, traditional concerts, and community outreach events.
