Master in music from UNESP (Paulista State University), drummer and researcher of Amazonian musical rhythms and Educator, Ygor Saunier is born on january 26, 1987 in the city of Maués, Amazonas. For five years participated as drummer and percussionist in the most important orchestras of the Amazonas Theater, in Manaus/AM: Amazon Guitar Orchestra, Amazonas Jazz Band and Amazonas Philharmonic.
His artistic training took place partly at the Cláudio Santoro High School of Arts, where he also held the teaching chair of the Drums and Percussion courses from 2012 to 2014.
He participated in courses with big names of drums and percussion in Brazil, Europe and New York, USA. Responsible for all rhythmic research of the Amazonian music genres and for the production and recording of all percussion and part of the drums on Karine Aguiar's “Arraial do Mundo” CD, awarded as Best Brazilian Music Album of 2014 in Paris by Portail du Brésil en France (Portal do Brasil em França), the world's largest site for French-speaking Brazil. He performed on stage at the UNESCO World Headquarters and at Jardin D'Acclimatation in Paris (France), the Amazonian rhythms, along with Karine Aguiar in March 2014. In April 2015, he participated in the “Brazilian Jazz Extravaganza” concert in the United States, as a guest of North American bassist Matthew Parrish.
In August 2015, Ygor has released the book “Amazon Drums: Musical Rhythms of Northern Brazil”, sponsored by Bank of Amazônia S/A. The book is already considered a reference in the theme with national and international launching tours to promote workshops, having already gone through some of the best music universities in Brazil, such as UNESP, UFMG, Souza Lima & Berklee College, UFAM, Study Center Popular Culture (NECUP, Belo Horizonte, MG), obtaining an excellent acceptance and criticism about the work. The "Tambores da Amazônia" has also received significant awards, such as "Congratulations Votes from the Federal Senate", shortly before its launch and the honor "Filhos do Guarana", granted by the City of Maués (AM). Also recorded in 2016 the drums and percussions of the 2nd CD of the award-winning Amazon singer Karine Aguiar, along with big names of the jazz such as the American bassist Matthew Parrish and pianist Fabio Torres (Trio Corrente).
Ygor was nominated as a finalist in the 2017 Music Professionals Award, is currently residing in São Paulo and has just been selected to participate in the European tour with the international band Gen Rosso, an important Italian band with 53 years of history, experience of about 200 tours, over 50 recorded albums, millions of viewers on tours and shows performed in over 50 countries.
