Background:
When Tyler Crawford gets behind a drum set, he gives it all he has with his very energetic yet simply explosive style. His style incorporates influences from punk rock and pop rock elements and fuses them into his showmanship filled technique. Tyler Crawford first gained a love for rock music while he was growing up. “My mother used to play the Beatles in the car on long car rides so I latched onto it rather quickly. My dad is a big classic rock fan so he exposed me to even more groups such as Areosmith, Nirvana, Boston, Bon Jovi, and other bands like that. My brother was a guitarist who introduced me into grunge, punk rock, and heavy metal music. What pushed me want to start drumming was when I went to see KISS live in 2010, just the energy and power Eric Singer displayed made me want to the the same and feel the same”, Tyler officially began his musical career playing trumpet but after only a years began teaching himself how to play drums and has grown his own style and sound over the past few years. After switching from trumpet to percussion at the beginning of his middle school career he has played with many types of musical ensembles. Tyler’s style is mainly based around pop-rock and punk-rock music, He also makes covers of his favorite songs and is now a rapidly growing drum set artist throughout social media pages and the world YouTube. He currently performs in his high school’s jazz and marching ensembles as well as his local worship and praise band.
Setup:
Being a punk-rock or pop-rock drummer, I don’t really need that much to fulfill my needs, I personally prefer smaller setups because they force you to think and work with “less is more” frame of mind and it’s less to worry about breaking, losing, or slowing you down.”
