As the son of renowned keyboardist/organist Rob Barraco (The Dead, Phil Lesh & Friends, Dark Star Orchestra), Tom Barraco grew up in a musical environment. Tom discovered his love for drums at age 5, and by high school was recording and touring with various rock bands. Tom has also frequently shared the stage with Dark Star Orchestra, and in 2006 he recorded percussion on his father’s solo album When We All Come Home. In 2008 Tom attended Five Towns College, where he studied drums and percussion under notable jazz and Broadway drummer Azande Cummings.

In 2010 Tom joined The Folkadelics, a touring NYC-based funk/reggae/rock band, Tom recorded one album with the Folkadelics titled "Not a Folk Album" , after 3 years of hard touring sharing the stage with such act like, Rusted Root, the Wailers, Slightly Stoopid and many more, Tom left the Folkadelics to pursue a different musical path, as of summer 2013 Tom is now the touring drummer for Frank Viele, voted best live act at the 2013 New England music awards.
