Tim Morton

I was born and raised in Washington D.C. I started playing drums at the age of 5 when I got my first set of drums. I was raised by a family of gospel musicians and later during my high school years I served as a musician for my high school gospel choir and community church.
As a teenager I traveled the east coast with several quartet gospel groups in hopes becoming the most experienced and known drummer in my community.
In 2007 I attended Wilberforce University as a Music major in Xenia, OH. I dropped out as a sophomore to join the United States Army as an 11B (Army Infantryman) and it was not until four years later I got the chance to join the United States Army Band as a 42R (Army Bandsmen Percussionist).
I would spend the next 7 years traveling around the globe as an ambassador for my country, speaking through music. By way of the United States Army, I have been afforded the opportunity study percussion under some of the world’s best drummers. Artist such as Dave Weckl, Benny Greb, Jojo Mayer, and the Great Steve Smith.
I now live in Honolulu Hawaii as a full-time student and a part time drum instructor. I serve as the drummer for the Life More Abundantly Island Church and I am currently studying ministry at the Pacific Rim Christian University. With several studio projects in que, I am looking to make a name for myself as an artist and an accomplished songwriter.

I have tried is the brand’s ability to provide a vast spectrum of tone selections, allowing me to remain flexible enough to meet the musical needs of an ever changing platform.
I love the variety of cymbals that Soultone has to choose from, each line has a timbre of its own and a uniqueness that adds to my arsenal of expression. I think other drummers should use Soultone cymbals because they add a brilliant character to any kit.
So far, the Soultone Cymbal Company has helped me as a drummer by choosing to support me as an artist, exposing my platform to the world and motivating me to take my drumming to the next level. Soultone Artist Relations representative Lior Mayran has been extremely patient and highly informative thus far. I feel comfortable in the forming of this relationship and I am excited to have the opportunity to share my expressions artistically with the Soultone Cymbal Company and the world.
