Late bloomer.....need we say more? Actually, there's a lot to be said about Taz and his never halting pursuit for progression behind the kit and in music in general. Early on, like so many drummers he got his start in a house of worship (Christ Follower) where his foundation was laid down and he learned how to be a solid fixture within the music.
After choosing a drum kit over a car it was pretty evident to his parents that music was clearly a passion of his. Eventually ending up a collegiate athlete, drums had played second fiddle to sports for quite some time until an opportunity came along for him to play at the local bible study. This eventually afforded him the opportunity to travel and get his first taste of the road. In 2003 he auditioned with a band from Houston called Spiracell which would go on to be signed to Monster Energy and link him to coffin case and other endorsements.
Taz has judged the Guitar Center Drum Off for the past 4 years and now is on the road with Texas Artist Casey Donahew. They are currently one of the hottest acts on the scene. Taz has also been national champion in the discus throw and serves as an ambassador on the DFW chapter of juvenile diabetes organization. He loves spending time with his daughter, and looks forward to the journey and eventually his destination.
Taz plays Vic Firth sticks, Evans Heads, Dw Pedals and now Soultone Cymbals.....He also endorses Justin Boots, Southern Thread Clothing, Rock Czar Clothing, and Buckle Inc.
