Steven Hickman was born in Midland Texas and moved to Oklahoma at a young age. At the age of six, Steven began playing drums in church in Duncan Oklahoma. Steven discovered his talent by getting on a set of drums at church and began playing, he then knew that he had a God given talent. At age seven, Seven, Steven got his first small drum set, it only consisted of a bass drum, a floor tom, and a snare the rest was pots and pans. Every Wednesday and Sunday Steven would play drums at church to better his God given talent. Steven loved to be around drummers who were better than him, he used this as a tool to learn new styles and to better himself. Over the years Steven got better and was able to play at many more gospel events. While in high school, Steven joined a local rock band that appeared on star search in Oklahoma. Steven later decided to be an independent drummer so that he would be able to play different styles of music. Steven has been inspired by many different drummers including Eric Moore, Dave Weckl, Mike Johnston, and Tony Royster Jr. Steven has been playing drums for 18 years and has recently been endorsed by Soultone cymbals. Steven would like to thank God and the Soultone family for giving him the opportunity to express his musical talent. Steven plans to continue playing as a professional musician for as long as he lives and hopes to one day inspire new and upcoming drummers. Steven is also planning studio time to work on his upcoming album.
