Stan Lewis

Stan Lewis first began playing piano at age five - and by age 14 was performing with Gospel / former Blues artist Solomon Burke and the renowned jazz vocalist Natalie Cole. The arc of his talent was brought out by his background in the Pentecostal gospel church, musical parents and the ability to play piano by ear, and built by his ambition to transcribe jazz chords and solos and practice 8 hours per day.

His inspiration comes from artists like Chic Corea, Herbie Hancock, Oscar Peterson, YellowJackets, Mozart, Bill Evans, Chopin, Beethoven, Andrae Crouch, The Hawkins, Kurt Carr, Thomas Whitfield, and Stanley Lewis (his father). Stan loves to try and blend these musical influences together.

Born in California, Lewis was soon playing at large churches in Los Angeles. He attended Musicians Institute in Hollywood, CA. Currently working on his Masters at Berklee College of Music in Boston. Lewis eventually landed his first professional gig in 1998.
