Simon Avrushenko

Simon Avrushenko (born January 17th, 2004) is an American drummer born in Berkeley, California who is now based in Saint Louis, MO. Starting at the age of 9 playing with School of Rock, he first learned the fundamentals from both Mark Guiliana’s book “Exploring Your Creativity on the Drumset” and Ted Reed’s book “Syncopation”. Simon’s drumming roots began centered around hard rock such as Nirvana, Clutch and Soundgarden until joining his school jazz band and drumline where he broadened his musical repertoire. As his music vocabulary grew, so did his drum inspirations, with a growing list of drummers like Vladislav Ulasyevich, Nate Smith, Matt Garstka, Dennis Chambers, Billy Cobham and Steve Gadd. Simon plays and records in the Illinois-Missouri area frequently with groups/artists such as Meremott, Jamplanet, The Blue Roots, Dejavu, Reholder and most recently, the U-City Symphony Orchestra featuring Bach to the Future and Roy “Future Man” Wooten.
“I chose Soultone Cymbals because of their unique, robust sound, and their handmade beautiful designs. Soultone also provides the diversity I need to fit any kind of genre I am playing, ranging from but not limited to jazz, funk, and metal” ~Simon Avrushenko
