Scott has played the drums since he was six years old. His father, a drummer with over 35 years experience, bought him his first drumset and knew right away that some of that talent had worn off on his son. At a young age Scott earned a reputation for being able to learn songs very quickly and this has continued on to the present time. Even though he has received no formal training other than a few lessons from his father, Scott has molded himself into a skillful drummer capable of accurately playing songs from legendary bands including Rush, KISS, Metallica and many more.
With age comes maturity and as Scott got older he started to take drumming more seriously and started to consider taking his skills out of the house and onto the stage. In early 2009 he began searching for bands. His father was also looking to join a band at the time. Not long after, his father invited a band who was searching for a drummer over to his house for a tryout but in a twist of fate Scott was the one that took part in the tryout. Even though he had only heard the songs the band had sent via email to his father a couple of times Scott managed to pull off a solid tryout and a short time later was named as the new drummer for Matt Hughes. Scott remained in the band for over a year and a half before parting ways due to musical differences. He has since joined a band called Fall of Knowledge. The band is currently finishing up work on its debut album and is ready to hit the stage and start showcasing their talent.
Scott had a passion for classic rock at a very early age as that was the music he grew up listening to and playing. However, in recent years he’s begun opening up to more styles of music which has greatly benefited his drumming. He has become much more open minded to today’s music and this has given him inspiration to change his style of drumming from a straight ahead rock n’ roll drummer who got the job done with little flair to a much more exuberant drummer. Don’t be surprised to see Scott hitting his cymbals with such force that you’d think they’d called his mother a dirty name or spinning his sticks as if he was taunting them to fly out of his hands.
The future is looking bright for this young musician. Scott has received endorsements from SJC Custom Drums, Soultone Cymbals, Silverfox Drumsticks, Tumbling Boulders Snare Drums, Cympad, Shellkey and De La Cruz Drumkeys. He is also sponsored by Drum Star Wear. Scott is currently planning on heading to Europe next year with his band to promote their music and reach a broader audience. In the mean time he is helping to put the finishing touches on his band’s debut album which is set to be released in 2012.
