Santiago Jasa (Montevideo, January 16, 1989) is a Uruguayan drummer, composer, record producer, musician, multi-instrumentalist, and sound engineer.
At age 8, he began studying drums with Nicolás Parrillo (Congo, Larbanois and Carrero).
He continued his studies with renowned drummers such as Gastón Buenseñor (Montevideo Philharmonic), Martín Ibarburu (Jaime Roos, Fito Páez), and Mape Bossio (La Triple Nelson).
He participated in master classes with Paul Wertico (Pat Metheny) and Tony Royster Jr. (Joss Stone) in Montevideo.
At the age of 12 he studied guitar and harmony with Renato Amaral.
In 2014, he completed a degree in sound engineering at Arte Música. In 2022, he completed a degree in sound engineering and music post-production at IMS.
From 2014 to 2016, he worked as a recording engineer at Absolut Studio.
Since 2016, he has worked at Platz Audio Productions, where he has achieved national and international recognition in the advertising and audiovisual fields, winning the Golden Bells Award for best audio post-production and original music in 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2022, 2023, and 2024.
Since the age of 10, he has participated in various musical groups across different genres, including rock, pop, candombe, jazz, and fusion, among others. He has recorded and produced albums with various bands and artists from the local scene, such as Mememe Fank (Otro día en la Oficina, an album supported by FONAM and recorded at Mastodonte), Caro Cruces (Serán Flores, recorded at Sondor), Santiago Ruggiero (Caricias al Fondo, recorded at Bicho Eléctrico), Los Espejos (Ep. Espejo Azul, recorded at Platz; No la Mires Más, recorded at Sonorámica, Córdoba, Argentina), Guillermo Taranto (Guille Taranto, recorded at La Vela Puerca's studios), By Rodríguez (Temporal, recorded at Séptimo Piso),Sucia Esquina (369, released 2026), Bonus Track (Clásicos del Rock Argentino Volumen 1, recorded live at Solymar Mystik), among others.
He has performed and toured Uruguay with his music, participating in various national festivals, both in the interior (Canelones, Maldonado, Rocha, Lavalleja, San José, Durazno, Florida, Tacuarembó, Soriano, Treinta y Tres, Paysandú, Colonia, and Flores) and in Montevideo; playing in bars, clubs, schools, and internationally renowned hotels such as the Radisson Victoria Plaza and Enjoy Punta del Este, theaters like El Galpón and Stella D'Italia, and venues such as Sala Zitarrosa and Hugo Balzo, among others.
In 2018, he traveled to Buenos Aires, Argentina, to perform at the School of Contemporary Music (EMC) with Caro Cruces' band.
In 2021 he course Jazz Ensemble at the Conservatorio Sur in Montevideo.
In 2024, he released his first solo album under the pseudonym Ñato Parihuela, titled "Aquí y Ahora" (Here and Now).
In 2025, he joined Sucia Esquina as their drummer and recorded the album "369." The album will be released in 2026.
In September and October of 2025, he joined Los Espejos for the play "Eventos Adversos," performing 16 sold-out shows at La Cretina.
In December of 2025 signed as an endorsee of Soultone Cymbals, and Drumtailor Percussion sticks.
In 2026 Ñato Parihuela will released a new EP (Sacála con fritas). Recorded, mixed, mastered and produced by Santiago Jasa.
Currently, he is part of several musical projects, including Bonus Track (a tribute band to classic Argentine rock), Los Espejos (a fusion band), Sucia Esquina (a rock and blues band), and Ñato Parihuela (a candombe beat band).
