Samuel Powell is a drummer based in Indianapolis, Indiana. Recognized early on for his strong musical ear, Samuel explored several instruments before discovering his true passion for drums at age 11. From that moment on, percussion became his first love — often practicing three to four hours a day throughout his teenage years.
His musical journey began in school band and orchestra, where he played trumpet and bass through elementary and middle school before transitioning into vocal and choral performance in high school. As his musicianship expanded, Samuel began recording and releasing original music with his group Palysades, a band he continues to perform with today.
Grounded in his core values — God, family, country, and music — Samuel approaches every performance with passion and purpose. In addition to performing, he serves as a drum instructor at Ram-Z Music in Plainfield, Indiana, mentoring the next generation of musicians.
Samuel is active throughout the Indianapolis music scene, performing in multiple bands across a wide range of genres, including metal, classic rock, grunge, country, punk, and more. His versatile playing style is supported by his Soultone cymbal setup, featuring custom crashes and ride cymbals that complement any musical style. His dual natural heavy-hammered hi-hats deliver crisp articulation and dynamic flavor, while his splash cymbals add bright accents to round out his sound.
