Sam Dobbin was born in Denver Colorado but raised in North Texas where he still lives in the heart of Fort Worth. He began playing guitar but after his brother left a cheap drum set at home when he moved to Austin, Sam decided to try his hands at percussion. From that moment, he was hooked. He began playing drums for his church youth group shortly thereafter. In college, Sam played drums for several local North Texas acts including Taylor Davis, Ashford, and Soviet. In spring of 2019, Sam joined synth pop band Big Heaven and continues to actively record and perform with them. Recently, he began recording a collection of original songs under the name Film Industry, with Sam performing all the instrumentation himself.
