Ryan Idris is a Canadian metal drummer based in Vancouver, B.C. He currently plays in international touring bands HEATHEN (80’s Bay Area thrash metal band based in the USA) on Nuclear Blast records, and AGGRESSION (80’s Montréal thrash metal band now based in Vancouver) on Massacre records.

Touring highlights over the last couple years include HEATHEN supporting OVERKILL on their Scorching the Earth tour in Europe and the US. In May and June of 2024, the band supported SYMPHONY X for their US tour. AGGRESSION also recently wrapped up a tour in July supporting Death to All. Following this will be another European tour in August, which includes some well known worldwide festivals with HEATHEN.

He has recorded 9 albums in the past decade or so with bands EXPAIN, HYPERIA and AGGRESSION, with their most recent album release being in December 2023. HEATHEN will be in the studio near the end of 2024 recording their newest album.

Ryan has his diploma in jazz and contemporary music, helping solidify a style crossed between old school progressive thrash and modern day limb independence
