Ryan (“JR”) Lincey
An Alaskan native actively playing drums for over 20 years, Ryan “JR” holds a B.S. in Music Education/Performance from Valdosta State University. While at VSU, JR studied Orchestral, Marching, and World Percussion with an emphasis on Drum Set. Currently he is completing a Masters Degree in Music Education from the University of Memphis.
In addition to playing drums live, recording drum tracks or programming loops and samples for various artist on the Universal record label, JR teaches full time as Director of Bands at Lovejoy High School. 2010 marks 10 years of teaching instrumental music in the public school system. Drummers/Percussionist most influential in JR’s development include: Dennis Chambers, David Weckl, Tony Williams, Elvin Jones, Vinnie Paul, Matt Cameron, Keith West, Paul Campiglia, Dr. David Morris, Gordon Stout, Greg Graves, and David Campbell.
Performing and award credits include: Touring with Hip Hop Legends, Public Enemy, Recording/Performing for Mike Keith of R&B Group 112 and Opening for country music stars Merle Haggard and Wynonna Judd. JR was also awarded “Most Outstanding Musician” at the Elmhurst Jazz Festival, held in Chicago, Illinois (1997).
