Rodney Evou

Rodney Evou

Rodney Evou, from Panama City Beach, FL was born to be a musician. Though he didn’t get his start until 2006, at age 15 he got his first drum set. He got together with a couple school friends to try and make a band. Although that didn’t work out he kept looking for like-minded musicians. While on his search, he continued to work on his drum skills to be a better drummer than he was the day before.
The year is 2013; big opportunities start to show their presence for Rodney. He starts his own recording/sound company and he has managed to find a musician who wants to achieve the same sound that he’s trying to accomplish. Guitarist Eric Dees joins the mix. Feeling like they were missing something, they get in contact with bassist Justin Evans, who’s also a vocalist. Rodney and Justin went to school together so they were no strangers. With a basic lineup, Rodney Evou on drums/vocals, Eric Dees on guitar, and Justin Evans on bass/vocals they were able to begin the songwriting process. Their first step though, was to come up with a band name that had meaning behind it. After a few weeks of going through tons of names the guys decided on World’s Fair Hotel, which was the nickname of a building in Chicago in the 1893 World’s Fair.
With a name chosen and a few songs under their belt they realized they wanted more out of their sound. With no one being able to step in as another guitarist, Rodney steps down from drums to play rhythm guitar. They are able to find drummer Alex Pickle, another high school friend, to replace Rodney on the drums. Unfortunately, that doesn’t last long. After only playing a couple shows, Alex had to leave the band to go pursue other things. It’s not too long without though, a mutual friend introduces long time drummer David Malloy to the group and its instant connection. With the new line up, Rodney Evou rhythm guitar/vocals, Eric Dees lead guitar, Justin Evans bass guitar/vocals, and drummer David Malloy; they were able to actively play shows in their surrounding areas.
Unfortunately, Eric Dees leaves the band for conflicting issues. David introduces the guys to a long time friend of his, Dustin Jimmerson, who becomes the lead guitarist. Dustin brought a lot to the writing table and helped the guys achieve their first studio album.

As they play more shows, build a small following, and build relationships with fellow musicians the opportunities appear more often. Rodney’s production company starts to work with venues by providing lights and sound for shows and concerts. They have worked with bands such as Carnifex, Abigail Williams, and Hed PE. Also his band, World’s Fair Hotel, have opened for bands like Motograter, The Bunny The Bear, and South American heavy hitters No Raza.
A few years pass and a terrible tragedy hits the band. David Malloy leaves for personal issues. Leaving a very important position to fill. With Rodney being able to play all the parts for their songs, he stepped up to the plate and took over as their studio drummer. Tragedy keeps hitting the band as Dustin Jimmerson is forced to leave as well. Prompting Rodney to find more people to replace. He finds more friends he went to school with Micheal Sellars to take over rhythm guitar and Daniel Woods to take over Bass. Since this last lineup change they have managed to stay together and they have released their first full-length album, Secret Rooms Eternal Tombs, in October 2019, and are currently tracking and working on their second studio album.
