Robert Crowder, born and raised in Cambridge Ontario Canada.
My journey began at about 10 years of age, in and around grade 5-6 where I joined school band as the percussionist. I began learning the fundamentals such as Rudiments and basic 4/4 beats. I went on to perform in the school band for local variety shows, school plays, and special musical events at school.
My parents could see I was legitimately in love with playing drums, and went on to buy me my first Real Drum Kit. Along with the Drum kit, the store they bought it from in Guelph Ontario offered Drum lessons. My parents signed me up for lessons, and I would begin making the weekly trek from the countryside into the downtown core, so that I could truly begin learning my craft.
A few years later my hunger for Rock and Hard Rock grew, I couldn’t believe the drummer for HELIX was offering lessons in Preston, Cambridge, Ontario, not far from where I lived. I had to go see him, and once I met him and saw his incredible talent, I knew who was going to be my teacher. It was Greg “Fritz” Heinz that took my drumming to another level. I continued to see him for the final 2 years of High School.
I played with a variety of musician friends and family in bands, while in high school. Fast forward Many years later, several bands later, both original and cover bands, in multiple genres. Multiple professional music videos released, many live performances all over the province, Drummer on 2 studio album releases, a Guinness World Record achievement with my band Crimson Breed. Currently part of The Owen Riegling Band and a session musician for the amazingly talented solo artist Cecile Monique, and now an endorsee for the incredible Soultone Cymbal company.
