Rene Hernandez, a native of San Antonio, Texas, is a well-regarded professional drummer and instructor. His ability and versatility to adapt to any style of music has allowed him to perform alongside many talented musicians. Some of the National and Internationally known Smooth Jazz artists Rene has had the privilege to perform with include Vincent Ingala, Peter White, Slimman, Elizabeth Mis, Greg Adams with keyboardist Joey Navarro, Althea Renee, Johnny Holliday, U-Nam with saxophonist Shannon Kennedy, Tom Browne, Marc Antoine, Steve Oliver, Lindsey Webster with keyboardist Keith Slattery, Ragan Whiteside, Kayla Waters, Billy Ray Sheppard, and Wendy B. Rene has also performed with Tejano artists, David Marez, Culturas, Dee y Grupo Valiente, and Patsy Torres. Rene stays busy in his hometown performing with numerous musicians of different genres, such as Celsius Band, the Billy Staggs Trio, guitarist Austin Forrest, The Groove Doctors, Celtic music group Golden Reign, Grupo Salúd with Mari and Charlie Bernal, and many others.
He studied music at the University of Texas at San Antonio and has continued to embrace the art of drumming through his continuous passion and dedication.
