Before he was even old enough to walk, it is told that Ragan Crawford would sit on his Dad’s lap and nod his head to the beat of the music. For generations, his family had been musicians, and played different instruments ranging from guitar, to piano and even vocals, but for the first time, they had a drummer. Ragan started playing drums at the age of 2. This is when he got his first kit, which had Animal, the character from the Muppets on the front kick head. He grew very passionate for music as he got older, learning to understand and appreciate different styles. When he was 11 years old, he picked up a different style of playing by joining the junior high band. Ragan followed this trend through playing Tenors in the high school marching band and eventually became a member of the drum line at Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, Louisiana. During his time at Northwestern, Ragan was blessed with the chance to play in different parts of the country, and even taught drum lessons at Long Lake Camp of the Arts in Long Lake, NY in the summer of 2006. Northwestern is actually where he met the members of his band, Seven Hours to Southland. 7H2S is a southern rock band based out of Shreveport, LA and Ragan is one of the co-founders. The band has been consistently touring for 2 years and has just finished recording their debut album in Nashville, TN. In 2008, Ragan started using Risen Drums and was soon in search of the perfect cymbals to complete the sound he was looking for. In late 2009, he talked to Brad Rice about Soultone Cymbals. After playing and hearing the cymbals, he decided to contact the company.
Ragan is a proud user and endorser of Soultone Cymbals and Risen Drums.
