Oscar Acevedo was born in Bucaramanga (Colombia) in 1984, he began playing drums at the age of 12, playing rock, metal and punk rock with local bands, was when he had 16 years old that he decided begin his music career at the Autonomous University of Bucaramanga (UNAB), playing in ensembles of jazz, Latin, fusion, folk , modern jazz , big band and as a percussionist with the symphony orchestra of the unab.
in 2007 he joined to Velandia y La Tigra Group, playing in important festivals like, rock al parque, festival Iberoamericano de teatro (Bogotá), Ajazzgo (Cali) and festival de la Libelula Dorada with musicians like Jose "chepe" Ariza and Teto Ocampo. at the same time he begin to teach in the drum department and ensembles director at the Aula Moderna De Musica y Sonido (AMMUS) direct agreement with taller de musics (barcelona).
in 2010, he moved to Los Angeles CA, to study at LAmusicacademy Pasadena CA.
where he studied with drummers like, Joe Porcaro(Stan Getz, Gerry Mulligan), Ralph Humphrey (Frank Zappa) and Gary Ferguson(Steve Lukater, Gary Moore), and drum clinics with Carl Allen and Alex Acuña.
Currently he returned to Colombia and is working in some projects (sesions) and teaching at AMMUS, (Aula De Musica Moderna y Sonido).
